Class Name: 2025 Capitol Fire Training Winter Virtual Symposium (3rd Annual)

Date: January 18th, 2025

Time: 9am-

Cost: $45/ Person

Class Description:

As usual with the winter months in front of us, it makes outside training a little harder to do. With that being the case, we bring you the 3rd annual virtual training symposium that you can attend from your own home. This year's symposium brings you 3 presentations from Capitol Fire Training instructors. This year's presentations:

1). Rescue Readiness

This 2-hour virtual lecture covers a few of the most important, yet potentially dangerous operations firefighters can perform: Primary search without a hoseline and downed Firefighter rescue operations. During this program, we will discuss having the proper mindset, skills and experience, as well as various operational tactics to increase our chances for successful outcomes on the fireground.

2). Search Essentials

The most important task, and the one that gives our citizens the best chance at surviving the fireground, is being able to quickly and efficiently search for them, with the ability to remove them from the threat (fireground). Although search is a tactic that can be talked about for days on end, this class is designed to give an abbreviated version of the essential information of aggressive search tactics. Through interactive discussions, pictures, and point of view videos from the fireground, this class is guaranteed to have you ready for the next box alarm.

3). The 1st Ten Minutes: Operations with Limited Manpower

The old saying goes "As the first line goes, so goes the fire". Well what other tasks and objectives can be performed while that initial line is being put into service. From establishing combative command, to search, throwing ladders, vent, water supply or stretching a 2nd line. How to use the limited manpower to effectively and safely get critical fire ground tasks accomplished.
