The Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund, after receiving numerous requests for help from KY, TN, WV, and Ohio will be sending a supply caravan to Lee County Kentucky on Jan 27th to assist rural and needy first responders. The Fund is sending several pumper engines, 2 vans, and hundreds of sets of turnout gear, hurst units, tools and other equipment to help several departments get the gear and equipment they need. Dozens of Long Island fire departments have donated thousands of dollars in fire service equipment, tools and apparatus to be given out to some of the poorest first responder organizations in America.Additional, the Stephenson VFD of Stephenson MI will be coming to the Bethpage location on Jan 2th to receive a donation of a Pierce Pumper/Engine to be used by their department.The Fund will also be taking supplies donated through the County of Nassau and the Town of Hempstead, such as sanitizer, disposable face masks, gloves and 200 sets of work clothes to be distributed to the many citizens of Lee County and surrounding areas. The Fund will be sending a caravan with a minimum of 9 vehicles with NYS Police, Nassau Co. PD, NYPD, NJSPD escorting the group through those jurisdicitions.

JANUARY 27, 2002 TRIP TO KENTUCKY

The new Date is Thursday January 27th at noon leaving from 510 Grumman Rd. West, Bethpage NY 11714.

The trip will travel from Bethpage to I-495 (LIE) to BQE. Continuing to the Verrazano Bridge over to New Jersey heading south on I-95 to exit 6 and on to I-276 to I-76 through Pennsylvania to West Virginia and stopping at the Holiday Inn Express Charleston WV. For the night.

Friday Jan 28th leaving the hotel at approximately 0900 and traveling 3 hours to Beattyville Kentucky.

The Terry Fund has made all arrangements for the overnight stay in West Virginia.

As of today, we are sending 3 pumper engines, 2 vans, 2 pickups with trailers loaded with gear, tools, helmets, boots, sanitizer, safety gloves, and other items. We will also be taking Supplies from the County of Nassau and the Town of Hempstead.
