Caldwell Fire Deputy Chief Brad Johnson Trosky dies from sudden medical emergency

    Recently Caldwell (ID) Fire Department announced that its Deputy Chief Brad Johnson-Trosky, 55, suffered a sudden medical emergency on Saturday (25-Jun-2022) while at home, and the Caldwell Fire Department and Canyon County Paramedics responded to provide care.

    He was transported to the West Valley Medical Center Emergency room and died early Sunday morning.

    Brad was born in Martinsville, Indiana to Paul and Marcia. He was married to his wife, Karine for eight years. His family was his life, Brad loved being a father to his three children and a grandfather to his seven grandchildren.

    Brad joined the United States Navy and dedicated ten years of his life to serving his country. In his 10-year service with the Navy he was honored with Meritorious Unit, National Defense Service Medal, First Good Conduct Medal, Gold Wreath (6), and a Battle E Ribbon.

    As a distinguished firefighter, Brad dedicated his life's work to serving others in his community and mentoring his precious firefighters in the fire service. During his work he was instrumental in developing advancements in the fire industry throughout the entire state of Idaho. Chief Johnson's career included service with Boise, Middleton, and Caldwell Fire Departments.

    During his life, Brad enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends. Brad will always be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, dedicated son, and loyal friend.

    To honor Brad, there will be a military funeral honors ceremony and a firefighter funeral with full honors on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa. Immediately followed with a Celebration of Life reception at The O'Conner Field House in Caldwell. Both events are open to all those wanting to honor and celebrate the life of Bradley Paul Trosky-Johnson.
