    Our Deputy Sheriffs provide a variety of functions, from patrolling neighborhoods, businesses, schools and courthouses, to taking on various specialty assignments such as the Traffic Enforcement Unit, Agricultural and Marine Patrol, Aviation Unit, S.W.A.T., General Crimes Investigations, Homicide Unit, Sex Crimes Investigations, Financial Crimes Investigations, Fugitive Apprehension, Court Services, K-9 Unit, Dive Team, E.O.D. Unit, Training Unit, School Resource Officers, and the G.A.M.E. Over Task Force.

    With immediate openings at multiple locations throughout Brevard County we offer a very competitive benefit package that includes medical and life insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, holiday leave, college tuition reimbursement, and participation in the Florida Retirement System (with a 3% contribution rate).We offer a starting pay of $44,137.60 to $49,712.00 (with prior experience) annually AND a $2,500 bonus for those with a minimum of 1 year of experience OR a $4,000 hiring bonus for Law Enforcement candidates that have two or more years of experience. Upon exiting the Field Training Program, Road Patrol Deputies receive an additional 12-hour shift differential of $.50 an hour for day shift and an additional 12-hour shift differential of $.75 an hour for those assigned to the night shift. In addition, we also have employment opportunities for candidates who are currently attending a Law Enforcement Academy or an Equivalency of Training (E.O.T).
