    Position: Assistant Fire Chief

    The Assistant Fire Chief will be part of a team of fire managers responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily operation of a private fire department at the Disneyland Resort. You will lead the implementation of the overall strategies and goals of the department. You will lead and manage a safe and efficient operation for Guests and Cast through daily fire prevention and protection activities and model Disney leadership behaviors.Responsibilities:The Assistant Fire Chief develop, lead, and set the direction for Disneyland Fire Department (DFD) firefighters to provide excellent fire prevention and protection services to Guests and Cast Members Respond to emergencies and provide overall leadership to DFD firefighters and support to arriving outside agencies.Coordinate the daily activities associated with the fire department operations and ensure all required training is up-to-date.Coordinate the completion of work associated with the following tasks, including: Alarm systems, fire extinguishers, apparatus and equipment, pyrotechnics and hot work fire watch and liaison with Anaheim Fire and Rescue. Help with the interview and selection process of hiring new Cast Members. Help develop department OG's and training tools. Prepare reports and maintain records as required. Partner with other lines of business to ensure that all facets of fire protection at the Disneyland Resort are in the highest possible state of readiness. Monitor the completion of fire prevention inspections and the routine maintenance and inspection of valves, fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, alarm systems, fire doors, and fire hose at the Disneyland Resort.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Have an excellent understanding of fire prevention and suppression operations
    • Administrative, Human relations, Communication and Planning skills
    • Ability to solve problems
    • Ability to prioritize and balance workload
    • Work independently on projects and programs.Must know when it is appropriate to communicate with and seek guidance from senior leadership.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience as a Fire Captain or Chief Officer
    • Required Education: High school diploma or GED
    • Preferred Education: A.A. or A.S / B.A. or B.S. in Fire Technology or a related field
