CERT Volunteers - Community Emergency Response TeamOrlando Fire Department
Position: The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may occur where they live.
CERT trains volunteers in basic disaster response skills, such as:
Fire safety
Light search and rescue
Team organization
Disaster medical operations
The CERT program offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks.
Qualifications: Volunteers must complete a mandatory CERT Basic Training either online or in-person in order to be CERT certified. Volunteers will also need to complete and pass a background screening prior to beginning their service.
Responsibilities: Once CERT trained, volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in community events focused on safety and disaster preparedness.Minimum age: 16
