The International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Wildfire Programs is accepting submissions for contractor positions to assist us in facilitating targeted wildfire community risk reduction through various projects. Selected contractors will be part of a cache of subject matter experts (SMEs) who provide us with expertise and assistance as needed. Projects may include, but are not limited to, Community Wildfire Defense Grants, Community Wildfire Protection Plan Assistance Programs, and Fire Department Exchanges (FDX).
These contractor positions are open to current or retired individuals with experience and knowledge in Wildland Uran Interface (WUI) response, preparedness, and mitigation, and who have worked with departments and communities adapting to wildfire.
Contractors will be expected to have communication and training skills that allow them to provide leadership and guidance to community representatives, specifically in developing or updating wildfire-related plans and projects. For more information on this opportunity, please view the criteria and expectations.
Interested individuals should submit a resume and cover letter with their experience and qualifications to our Program Manager, Derek Bullington (derek.bullington@iafc.org).
All submissions must be received by COB on June 17, 2024, to be considered. Please send any questions regarding the opportunity to Derek (derek.bullington@iafc.org).
