This is a highly skilled emergency medical services position. Provides squad-based advanced life support first response… More on emergency medical call scenes. Maintains fire station equipment, apparatus, quarters, and operating equipment; provides public education; and prevention duties. Work is performed in accordance with general supervision and written procedures, under the command of a superior officer. Work if reviewed in progress and upon completion. Candidates with previous experience and income as a Fire Medic may be placed into the OPFD step plan from Step 1 up to Step 5.
❖ Starting Pay: $13.77- $18.05/hr. ($45,836.79 - $60,082.69 annually)
❖ Normal Work Schedule: 24-hour shift; schedule to be determined by supervisor.
❖ Full-time Benefits (Healthcare / Retirement / Pension)
❖ No City residency requirement

Requirements:
❖ High school diploma or GED and be 18 years of age or older.
❖Associates Degree in Fire Science and/or Emergency Medicine is preferred.
❖ Current paramedic certification by the Kansas Board of EMS or National Registry Certification for Paramedic with requirement to obtain KS certification within 1 year of hire date.
❖Must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, physical, and psychological evaluation.
❖Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record.
❖Preference will be given to Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2 Certification in the State of Kansas or equivalent International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Pro Board Certification.

This is a highly skilled position that directs and oversees on-scene Emergency Medical Services (EMS) activit… Moreies. Supervises work of EMS personnel assigned to squad ALS first response team. Monitors inventory, ordering, delivery and storage of EMS supplies. Mentors to new paramedics. Candidates with previous experience and income as an EMS Lieutenant may be placed into the OPFD step plan from Step 1 ($5,055.00/month) up to Step 5 ($6,626.08/month).

❖ Starting Pay:$18.23-$ -$23.89/hr. ($60,660.06-$79,512.96 annually)
❖ Normal Work Schedule: 24-hour shift; schedule to be determined by supervisor.

Requirements:
