Help remember our First Responder heroes by donating to USFRA this #GivingTuesday!

Today, on this #GivingTuesday, you can help further the training and educational goals of First Responders nationwide with a donation to USFRA!

This year our #GivingTuesday will focus on First Responders impacted by #HurricaneIan. On the morning of Sept. 28, Ian intensified into a Category 4 hurricane over the Gulf of Mexico, with maximum sustained winds of 155 mph, just shy of a Category 5 storm. Ian came ashore near Cayo Costa, Florida, at 3:05 p.m. EDT with maximum sustained winds of 150 mph, tying the record for the fifth-strongest hurricane on record to strike the United States. It was the strongest hurricane to hit Florida since Michael in 2018. It was also the first Category 4 hurricane to impact Southwest Florida since Charley in 2004.

Today is to giveback to those First Responders who gave so much of themselves during this disaster!

We rely on your generous donations to help us fulfill our mission of researching, creating, and maintaining USFRA programs, for instance:

  • Pet Oxygen Mask: When a fire strikes a home, smoke inhalation is one of the most lethal factors affecting victims. Pets are especially susceptible to this threat due to their small airways and limited lung capacity. Unfortunately, oxygen masks designed for humans are often too wide and too shallow to properly fit over an animal’s snout, which means oxygen cannot be administered efficiently. As a result, many pets perish before they have a chance to receive proper veterinary care.
USFRA is on a quest to help supply this much needed tool to firehouses throughout the Nation.
  • Public Safety Autism Awareness: Providing materials and education to first responders.
  • Community Donations/GrantsUSFRA Community Donations and Grants for the public safety, first responder and veteran communities
  • First Responders Disaster Relief
  • USFRA Shielding Our Heroes: The Shielding Our Heroes program is using donations from Partners and Sponsors and others to cover the costs of installing security and safety window film on Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement K9 vehicles.
