2021 Hurricane season news and updates

This main post will be updated often with various storm news and updates for 2021 in below section as well as in the comments below.

We sometimes will spin off major hurricanes into new discussions in this group so watch for updates and links. And sometimes we delete comments so visitors don't have to read through too many comments.

Atlantic storms typically get the most coverage since they impact many people and land masses across the Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea.

Sometimes Pacific storms affect the southwestern U.S. and Hawaiian and other pacific island chains so please share the resources below with others and check back often for news and updates.

2-Jul-2021 8a CT - Elsa is now a hurricane with a Hurricane Warning in effect for Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines as she moves across the Windward and Leeward Islands today, then will head up towards Florida in coming days (more in main post.) ~ j

6-Jul-2021 7a CT - Elsa continues passing near Florida Keys this a.m., and will move
near or over portions of W coast of Florida later today thru tonight. On Wed morning, Elsa is forecast to make landfall along the north Florida Gulf coast (more above - stay safe all!) ~ j

6-Jul-2021 10p CT - Hurricane Elsa is near Tampa and forecast to make landfall along the north Florida Gulf coast by late Wed a.m. then move across southeastern U.S. through Thu (more above) ... stay safe ~ j

13-Aug-2021 - Fred will mess with Florida all wkend as storm moves from Cuba across the Keys then towards FL panhandle early Mon and not stopping there. Also keep an eye on system that will become Grace -- see main post. Stay prepped + safe! ~ j

15-Aug-2021 5p CT - Fred should move across FL panhandle Mon before moving inland. And Grace is dumping rain on DR and Haiti (impacting SAR efforts after 7.2 earthquake) then may head towards TX -- see main post. Stay prepped + safe! ~ j
