The State of Florida today made a big move to address one of the top concerns lingering over election integrity in the state, announcing it was withdrawing from the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC.)
ERIC, which was originally founded by Democrat operatives, was originally sold as a platform that would better address voter registration redundancies as American citizens moved across state lines. Since the 2020 election, there have been growing concerns by conservative groups and red states about lack of transparency, privacy issues, and its ability to undermine election integrity.
Today, Florida Secretary of State Cory Byrd announced that Florida was removing itself from ERIC, along with Missouri and West Virginia. This follows similar moves taken this year by Alabama and Louisiana.
The Bay County Republican Party thanks our state leadership for taking the concerns of its voters seriously on this issue, and are thankful that our county is served by the best Supervisor of Elections in the country, Mark Andersen.
