Wisconsin Supreme Court Grants AAPS Motion to File Brief in Case Reviewing Hospital Prohibition of Ivermectin
On December 2, 2022 the Supreme Court of Wisconsin granted a motion by AAPS to file an amicus brief in Gahl vs. Aurora. The Court is currently reviewing this case concerning whether a hospital may block a patient from obtaining potentially lifesaving medications from the patient’s own physician.
In its motion, AAPS tells the Court, “AAPS has a strong interest in ensuring that patients have timely access to the medications they need, as prescribed by physicians, without interference by hospitals or any other corporate entity.”
The AAPS position stands in stark contrast to that of the American Medical Association which has filed a brief asking the Court to uphold the hospital’s ability to obstruct a patient’s access to such care.
