Last night there was a fatal crash involving a responding Louisa County (Virginia) and another civilian vehicle.
According to the initial details, the driver of the Louisa County Fire Rescue rig was responding to an emergency call and had their lights and siren on. While traveling west on Louisa Road, a sedan, turned left in front of the truck, resulting in the collision.
The driver of the sedan was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Police say he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The condition of the fire truck driver and crew is unknown at this time. KTIYP’s.
If the county name sounds familiar, tragically last September, Louisa County Firefighter Mia Ethridge lost her life in the Line of Duty following an apparatus crash that occurred in July.
She was honored last weekend at the National Fallen Firefighter Memorial weekend in Emmitsburg as part of the 89 who died in the Line of Duty in 2023 and the 137 who died in previous years. Rest in Peace.
