The Kern County, CA Fire Department is mourning the loss of 2 firefighters in one week.
Captain Brian Falk died Thursday while on duty. Captain Falk was with the department for 20 years. Officials with the department did not disclose how he died. Captain Brian Falk was 47 years old.
This is the second death within the department this week. On Monday, they lost 18 year-old wildland firefighter Aiden Agnor. He was on life support for nearly two weeks after getting into a serious crash while on his way to work at the Keen helibase, June 18th. He worked as a seasonal firefighter for the department.
