We regret to pass on the Line of Duty death of Paramedic Larry Nuckols of Jay County EMS in Portland, Indiana. Paramedic Nuckols suffered a fatal heart attack while on duty Friday evening. He was working a 24-hour shift and had responded to multiple emergency calls earlier that day.

Paramedic Nuckols was 53 years old and had served in EMS for over 32 years. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran with three deployments and served until retirement. His six adult children survive him. Our condolences to all those affected. Rest in peace. Less
