27-Oct-2020 – Helping coordinate and provide relief to first responders (especially after a disaster or emergency) is an on-going initiative for USFRA thanks to the generous support of our partners and sponsors.
Over the past 2 years one of USFRA’s premiere partners – Jägermeister – has played a very active role in relief efforts including the First Responder Thank You event in USFRA’s hometown of Panama City (after Hurricane Michael devastated the Florida panhandle), and in California after the Woolsey Fire roared into Malibu.
This year’s health crisis, economic impacts and lockdowns have been very challenging for everyone – especially volunteer fire departments that rely on public events and community fundraisers to help their bottom line.
New York was hit extremely hard by the coronavirus outbreak and, since Mast-Jägermeister US’ headquarters is based in NY, USFRA and Jägermeister teamed up again to do something to thank local first responders in and around MJUS’ hometown of White Plains.
The White Plains Fire Department could not accept a donation since they are funded by the city so USFRA researched the coverage areas of each of the nearly 60 volunteer fire departments in Westchester County NY, then narrowed it down to 5 of the closest volunteer and combo fire departments in proximity to MJUS’ HQ office.
The following VFDs each received a $5,000 donation:
- Harrison Volunteer Fire Department
- North White Plains Fire Company #1
- Purchase Fire Department
- Scarsdale Fire Department
- West Harrison Fire Department
USFRA will be getting more photos soon from the above FDs, but here are some shared so far…
On behalf of the U. S. First Responders Association and Mast-Jägermeister US, we would like to express our gratitude to all 5 FDs for supporting your communities, especially during these unprecedented times of a health crisis and economic uncertainty.
As a proud partner of the United States First Responders Association (USFRA), Mast-Jägermeister US is committed to supporting the men and women who serve the communities where we live, work and play. We at Mast-Jägermeister US truly honor and appreciate your service and heroic support battling the COVID-19 outbreak for our hometown of White Plains. We look forward to getting together with you soon and to toast to better times.
Please stay safe and, with your help, Westchester County will move forward as One Community. Together.
