We wanted to take a minute to recognize Ranger Hopingardner for exemplifying true toughness, grit, and determination. During RAP Week, Ranger Hopingardner sprained his ankle while executing the Malvesti Confidence Course. He managed to stay in the course and somehow complete the 12 mile foot march less than two days later. Then, two days later while executing the Darby Queen he lost his grip on an obstacle and fell, hitting his back and actually breaking a large piece of 2x6 board off before landing in the safety net. After seeking medical treatment, he was cleared to return to duty if he could stand the pain of the significant bruising he suffered. I promised Ranger Hopingardner if he graduated, I would present him with the board he broke off at his graduation. His ability to overcome many challenges and fight through the pain, is an example for others to follow. Congratulations Ranger Hopingardner! #rangersleadtheway #rangerschool #airborneranger #armyrangers #army #rangersinaction #airborneranger #military #america #fortbenning #goarmy
