The Salem Fire & EMS Department is pleased to announce that effective October 31, 2021, Captain Mike Elston, will be promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief. Mike holds a Certificate in Emergency Health Services from the College of Health Sciences. He currently serves as a Team Leader on the Division 6 Technical Rescue Team, he is a member of the Regional Honor Guard, and is an active instructor at the Regional Fire & EMS Academy. Captain Elston is a twenty-two-year veteran of the department and will serve as the Battalion Chief on A-Shift. We would like to congratulate Battalion Chief Elston and wish him the best of luck in his new position!
