As Gretchen Moisen reflects on her 40-year career with the Forest Service, she is filled with overwhelming satisfaction.

“The bottom line is that I am grateful and optimistic about this organization,” she said. “There is so much good work going on, and there are so many talented and dedicated people in the Forest Service.”

Moisen coordinates with agency experts to gather data and track forest change… Mores from fire, wind and other disturbances. As a research forester with Forest Inventory and Analysis, she's part of team that includes statisticians, programmers, scientists and more. She acts as liaison, helping communicate what researchers learn to the public. #PSRW

Yesterday, an off-duty US Border Patrol Agent encountered a roll-over vehicle accident with an unconscious person still belted into the seat. The agent immediately jumped into action and used his knife to cut the seat belt to free her from the vehicle and pull her to safety!
