| Bio | I am 34 years old and began my journey in fire service in 2021. I wanted to be a firefighter at the age of 11. Unaware women could be firefighters, I went into nursing after high school. As much as I enjoy helping people, I found nursing to be too monotonous. I took another career path for the next 10 years. After meeting my fiance, I began riding along on calls he responded to with our volunteer department. As I sat in the truck, as he and many other departments fought a structure fire, I found it difficult to sit back and not be of any assistance. Afterwards, I joined our volunteer fire department. Fast forward almost 2 years and here I am. I have attained the credentials to be a career firefighter and many more certifications for other trainings and seminars. Everyday I wake up and get to do what I love, and help people in time of need. |
