The Wichita Fire Department has identified the Firefighter who died in the Line of Duty while operating at that mutual aid house fire yesterday.
Chief Tammy Snow stated that Firefighter Ty Voth, who was 27, was a five-year veteran of the Wichita Fire Department. He went down on the scene, was taken from the scene of a house fire Thursday afternoon and died later at a hospital despite extraordinary efforts to save him by Firefighters, Medics and hospital personnel.
President Tim Bush of Local 135 of the International Association of Firefighters said that Ty was a generational firefighter and he loved his job, he loved his Station 5, and he gave his life in service to the community. Memorial details will follow.
